Transport

The Ashurst child and family centre has close public transport links provided at bus stops along Lyndhurst road. Car park and drop off

The Ashurst child and family centre benefits from a large car park which is accessed from Lyndhurst road. The majority of the car park is constructed of a loose stone type floor surface. There are five accessible spaces and a drop off point which are on a firm tarmac surface and located along the site access road.

Access at entrance

The main entrance into the children's centre is well signposted from the car park access road. Entry into the building is gained via an automatic single door which opens inwards.

Reception

There are no reception facilities at the centre. Visitors are asked to use the telephone in the entrance lobby to dial the extension number of the relevant department and then wait in the adjacent waiting area to be collected. A directory of the departments is provided on a notice beside the telephone.

Facilities

The centre provides a range of clinics for children and their families. Visitor toilets and baby changing facilities are available, however these have no adaptations for disabled users.

Access to all areas

The centre is based on two floors with a lift and alternative stairs connecting the levels. The internal corridors are relatively wide to aid circulation.
