Access in Summary

Car Park and Drop Off

The main Car Park at the hospital can be accessed via Lambeth Palace Road and leads into the lower ground level of both the North & Lambeth Wing. There are fifteen accessible spaces for blue badge holders. There is a dropped kerb for access onto the pavement which gives access to both entrances on this level.

Transport

There are bus stops located close to the hospital on both Westminster Bridge Road and Lambeth Palace Road which provide good access to the hospital. The nearest Underground Station is Westminster which is approximately 600 metres away and the route to the hospital from here is step free.

Access at Entrance

The main entrance is accessed from Westminster Bridge Road via a ramp or stairs. The entrance has double automatic doors that slide open on approach. There is an alternative entrance on this level next to Accident & Emergency and additional entrances on the lower ground level adjacent to the Car Park.

Reception

The main reception desk is located directly in front of you as you come through the main entrance. The desk has two lowered sections on either side and is clearly signed on the approach. Staff are always on hand to provide assistance where required.

Facilities

There are various shops and cafes located on the ground floor just inside the main entrance. All have open plan entrances and provide level access. The shops in this area include Marks & Spencer, AMT Coffee and WHSmith.

The Shepherd Hall Restaurant is located on the ground floor of the South Wing and is accessed via double doors which are left open. The restaurant has a counter service, large seating area and staff are all always on hand to offer assistance.

Access to All Areas

There are six lift and stair access points which serve all floors of each wing. They are all clearly signed and can easily be accessed from the ground floor of the hospital.

Evelina Children's Hospital

The Evelina Children's Hospital can be accessed via Lambeth Palace Road and is located opposite the South Wing. There are double automatic doors that slide open on approach and there is lift access to all floors within the building. The security reception desk is located just inside the entrance.
