Access in Summary

Transport

London Bridge Station is located opposite the Hospital. Having used the lifts and escalators to exit the station, enter the hospital from Joiner Street. The route does not involve any steps, however there are some cobbled areas leading up to the main entrance on Great Maze Pond. The nearest bus stops are located on St. Thomas Street.

Car Park and Drop Off

The Hospital has a small Car Park located outside the main entrance, which is for the use of blue badge holders only. There are ten spaces marked out and there is a small lay-by which can be used to drop off patients or visitors. In addition there is an NCP Car Park located on Snowsfields which is opposite the Hospital.

Access at Entrance

The main entrance to the Hospital is located on Great Maze Pond, which is a road that cuts through the middle of the Hospital Campus. Entry is via two large, automatic, revolving doors which have a button to slow down the speed for a short period of time.

Reception

The main reception desk is located on the ground floor directly in front of the main entrance. The desk has a lowered section at the front and the area is spacious and free from obstructions.

Facilities

The Great Maze Restaurant is located on the lower ground floor of the Hospital and can be accessed via the lifts. There is also a coffee bar located in the ground floor reception area and a general shop located on the ground floor in Tower Wing.

Access to All Areas

There are six main lifts inside the Hospital that serve the different wings and provide step free access to all publicly accessed areas. There are also two sets of lifts provided for Tower Wing and it is clearly signed on each bank of lifts which floors they serve.
